Tate Tuck Trio
Date: Thursday, July 22nd
Tickets – NO COVER
When 17 year old Tate makes music, it is clear he is an old soul. His soulful voice, infused with a hint of Southern drawl, accompanied by intricate guitar picking beyond his years, puts a unique spin on some old standards, current favorites, and some originals too. Raised on a farm at Smith Mountain Lake, he brings a unique perspective to a show that weaves in and out of genres like bluegrass, folk, blues, country, rock, r&b, a little pop, and even some rap.
Tate has spent the past two years playing music full time, as a recurring artist in venues throughout Smith Mountain Lake, Roanoke, Lynchburg, Danville, and surrounding areas. He has played fairs and festivals, including the “Lyrics on the Lake Songwriters’ Festival”, hailed as the largest songwriter’s festival on the East Coast. While live music was shut down completely in our area, Tate was invited by The Berglund Center (formerly The Roanoke Civic Center) to play their “Play From Home” Livestream Concert series. This month, The Roanoke Times named The Tate Tuck Trio “2020’s Best Local Band’ in their Best of Smith Mountain Lake survey. Tate has been focusing on expanding his audience to the Piedmont and New River Valley areas, as well as North Carolina, and is working his way north through Virginia.
Tate’s show setup is versatile, and he plays as a solo act, duo, trio, or full band.
